Successful First Session

The League hosted its first Skills Building Session of the new season. Over a dozen players took advantage of this opportunity to shake off some rust in preparation for tryouts in December. The weather looked ominous early in the morning, but after a few minutes of light drizzle the skies cleared the way for a great day of softball. Immediately following an extensive warm-up period, the girls were put through a series of fielding drills that challenged both their infield and outfield abilities. Then we hit the cages for some batting practice and knocked the cover off a few softballs. Then it was GAME TIME! We broke up into 3 teams and rotated through the line-ups several times for a coach-pitch game that saw plenty of hitting and base-running action. Special guest Coach Jason Garcia from KWHS put in some quality time with the girls and added his perspective regarding what a coach is looking for in a quality player. Everyone had a great time and we're looking forward to playing again.

Our next session is Saturday, 10 November from 9-12 in the morning at Rosa Hernandez Field.
